Here are a few of Mr. Bhandari's charitable activities carried out in recent years to help the village children.
On the weekend of June 10th 2017, Bhandari visits his 90 year-old grand-father-in-law, making the two hour trek uphill from Yumdang passing through leech infested fields on a mission to collect folktales to help preserve Khengpa culture for the coming generations.
Cooking rangesIn the Spring of 2017, Bhandari gives four gas cooking ranges to help families in Yumdang who had received gas cylinders from the government but had no stoves.
Footwear for Bjoka childrenOn May 15th 2016, Bhandari brings 120 pairs of EVA slippers to the school children in Bjoka and returns on May 25th to deliver an additional 60 pairs. Lek Wang, who teaches at this school thanks Bhandari on facebook and provides pictures of the event (see our slideshow section).
Books for Panbang childrenOn April 19th 2016, Bhandari distributes 250 children's books to the children at the Early Childhood Care and Development unit in Panbang.
Book distribution in SonamthangOn March 30th 2016, Bhandari and his wife Rinchen Wangzon distribute 200 children's books to children attending the (rudimentary) Early Childhood Care and Development unit in Sonamthang.
Children's special eventOn January 1st 2016, Bhandari organizes a large event for children in the village, entertaining them and giving them ideas on how to play different games.
Singing competitionOn December 25th 2015, Bhandari organizes a party with dance and a singing competition for children and gives them prizes for their entertainment.
Story timeOn November 3rd 2015, Bhandari has lunch with some children, providing some entertainment and telling them the story of Monkey and the Banana.
Lunch and clothes for many villagersOn September 15th 2015,Bhandari invites more than 150 villagers of all ages to a free meal and also distributes clothes at this event.
Clothes distributionOn July 13th 2015, Bhandari distributes some clothes to more than 35 children in the village.
A simple lunchOn January 5th 2015, Bhandari serves a simple lunch to 20 of his daughter's friends from around the village.
